The staff of Sit n' Stay is Kim and her husband Tom, along with several wonderful pet sitters they have carefully screened. Sit n' Stay is much different than most pet sitting services in that when you hire Sit n' Stay, you are not hiring an individual, you are hiring a company. We take our company seriously, and we hire only the best sitters.

To find out more about becoming part of our team, please see the Employment Opportunities page.

Kim Sauer, CPDT - Owner, Trainer

Kim started this business back in 2002 after leaving the corporate world. She wanted to spend more time with her true love of not only her own pets, but all animals. Of course, as things got busier, she hardly got to see her own pets again! Luckily they are very forgiving!

Having a dog training background, and understanding pets behavior, has been a great asset to Kim and her staff. In addition to running the company, she is an active dog trainer and enjoys training and working with her rottweiler, Blaze. You can check out the Dog Training page for details.

Kim believes it is very important to be a productive member of the community, so Sit n' Stay takes part in several charity drives and events throughout the year. See the Events page for more information.

Kim says that this business has not left her with much of a personal life, and that she could not have made it this far without the wonderful support of her husband, Tom. When there is time, she loves to travel, scrapbook and just spend time with their dogs. Blaze and Nigel are like her children!

Tom Sauer - Owner

Tom originally thought that this business would be Kim's pet project. Little did he know that just a few months into it, he found himself loving the job! Tom is a natural with all pets and finds that even pets that are typically shy warm up to him immediately. He grew up with cats and dogs, and lived with all sorts of animals such as ferrets, bunnies, and even a tarantula!

Even though Tom currently still has his full time job as a supervisor, Tom loves walking with his clients on a daily basis. When Tom has any free time, he loves to exercise and hang out with his family. When relaxing he likes to hang with his 170 pound mastiff, Nigel, who thinks he's a lap dog! Tom is an avid movie watcher, music lover and sports fanatic! The Sauer household includes Kim and Tom, their two dogs, two cats and a sugar glider.

Lori C. - Southtowns Manager & Senior Pet Sitter

Lori has a BS in Accounting from Canisius College and has completed the Court Reporting program at Alfred State College. While she wishes she could be a pet sitter full time, she does split her time between court reporting and pet sitting. She loves this job because she enjoys visiting so many different pets. They all have a different personality and she learns something new every day. When she does have free time she enjoys learning everything she can about training, health and nutrition for pets. She also fosters dogs at her home on occasion. The dog shown in the picture is Xander, Lori's own reason for wanting to learn so much about training!

Sandy S. - Pet Sitter

"I have three grown children, so Oliver and Paris are now known as my babies!! Oliver is a three year old Chihuahua Min-Pin, who I adopted from a shelter in Pennsylvania last year. Paris is a Chihuahua that I purchased in Florida five years ago. They get along remarkably well, and they are so much fun. I have had larger dogs in the past, but you cannot find more love and affection packed in such tiny bodies as in these two!! I also share my home with my husband and a variety of other pets. I have two cats, two parakeets, two red-eared slider turtles and a variety of fish. Very frequently, my two four-legged "grandchildren" come to visit, Ada and Tesla, both Boston Terriers. Oh, the fun we have with all four dogs running and playing chase!!!

After spending seven years working as a Periodontal Coordinator and nine years previous to that employed in two different Veterinary Hospitals, I have truly found my most rewarding experience. I say experience, because every day is one!! This is not simply a job to me. I absolutely love caring for the large variety of animals that are entrusted to my care while their moms and dads are away."

Mercedes F. - Pet Sitter

Mercedes has a BA in sociology and criminal justice from SUNY Fredonia and is currently earning her masters in forensic anthropology at the University at Buffalo. There were always dogs in her house growing up and when she graduated from Fredonia she adopted a cat from the SPCA. Dexter is now two years old and is constantly causing mischief in one form or another. Someday she would like to get Dexter a canine friend.

She feels a house is not a home without a pet and is in love with this job because it allows her to spend her time away from school work with animals. She recognizes the need for owners to feel their animals are safe and in good hands when hiring a pet sitter and she is ecstatic to be involved with a company that has such a guarantee.

Pat B- Pet Sitter

Pat retired a few years ago after 20 years as business manager and administrative assistant for a church in Williamsville. Prior to that she was in retail. Now she works in her garden, scrapbooks, knits and quilts.

Pas has had animals (dogs and cats) in her household for most of her life and now has one cat, the original scaredy cat.

Her daughter is married and lives in Baltimore. She has exposed her to ferrets and rats as pets. She’s had in total, but at various times, 9 ferrets (all of whom were rescued), about the same number of rats, a dog and a cat. The dog and the cat have survived the 12 years.

Pat says, "I’m looking forward to meeting many friends – human and animal – in this new position."

Jen O.- Pet Sitter

Hi I'm Jen O. I am a Physical Anthropology PhD student at SUNY at Buffalo. I am also the Director of the Comparative Primate Laboratory for the Anthropology department and a Teaching Assistant. I am a born and raised Buffalonian! When I'm not studying for school or looking at osteological materials (bones) I like to spend my time doing outdoor activities such as hiking and biking. While I do have a job with UB, I'm currently looking for a part-time job that would fit well with my irregular schedule. What better than a job that involves working with animals! I love all creatures of life with a slight favoritism for the felines:) I blame my cat Gremlin's cuteness for this! I'm looking forward to being apart of the business.

Julie T. - Pet Sitter
Julie has an Associate Degree in Commercial Art from Bryant and Stratton. She is a canine artist, and also works for a private laboratory full time. She took on two guinea pig sisters and found out they were both pregnant! (Long story!) Mariah had four babies and Alanis had two. They are all such characters. Julie feels she is now a guinea pig expert! She looks forward to getting a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy in the spring, but is enjoying pet sitting and meeting all the different animals!

Joy B. - Office Staff, Pet Sitter
Here is Joy's best friend, Dylan. He earned his Canine Good Citizen title and has been an important part of the SPCA's Paws for Love Program visiting nursing homes for the past year. Joy enjoys pet sitting because of the wonderful animals she gets to visit. She also gets to enjoy working on the phones as she gets to talk to all the wonderful humans they live with! Joy also has a BA in Sociology from Syracuse University.

Erica P. - Pet Sitter

Erica is a recent Canisius College graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Animal Behavior. She recognizes the impact a pet can have on our lives and wants to ensure the greatest care is given to any animal under her watch. She is the proud owner of a cat, Panya (shown), and a rat, Albert, and has owned a dog, several fish, and other small animals.
